프롤로그 | PROLOGUE

As the church grows, we need an education system to enforce the spiritual life of church members. It is dangerous to teach the Bible in a secular manner. Some leaders at the church teach what they think about Jesus, which has nothing to do with the Bible, and their teachings are not based upon it either. This kind of teaching method might be welcomed outside the church, but not inside the church.
The ages change but the Word of God never changes. We should meet Jesus, whom the Bible talks about and teach church members about Jesus in the way that the apostles, the disciples, and the people in the early church taught to make healthy disciples (Matt.28:18~20). We need to have the heart and life of Jesus in reading the Bible, and then we can teach the church people what Jesus wants. We don’t know the taste of a food until we try it. In the same way, to be a right teacher, we should first experience who Jesus is in the Bible. Before we teach about prayer, we need to experience the answers to our prayers. Even if we deliver a good knowledge to students, nothing will happen if they don’t accept it. A good teacher knows how to make them study harder. The same thing is applied to our spiritual life. Not only teaching but also experiencing the Words of God is needed as a teacher before training others in the church.
If you read this study book, we will learn what my church teaches. This study material is designed particularly for the new comer and new believer to be equipped with appropriate knowledge about Jesus and to encourage their spiritual life to grow as well as to help lay workers to be prepared well with the Bible. We referred to my old sermons spoken at ‘Volunteer Evangelism School’ and another which was spoken at many Bible school, and about twenty books of mine were reviewed to publish this bible study book. This is eight week long program, and it includes the basics of our faith, along with the Bible references. The Bible translation, which is the ‘Korean Gae-Yuk-Han-Geul Edition’ was used for this publication. Bible verses are also written within this book for the readers’ better understanding.
When the Bible is not supposed to be studied, but to be experienced, and it will contribute to our spiritual growth with the help of the Holy Spirit. According to the book of John 14:26, it says, “But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you”. With this study material, I hope everyone in our church to be bound into ‘A stronger community’.
